Whittier City Council Election Poll: Initial Findings Released

The Whittier 360 News Network is proud to release the first set of data from our comprehensive poll regarding the 2024 Whittier City Council election. With 620 participants, our findings offer a meaningful glimpse into the community's views and priorities, with a margin of error of ±3.96% at a 95% confidence level.


Crime: A Top Concern Yet Confidence in Local Leadership


Our poll revealed that 44% of respondents identify crime as their top issue this year, underscoring its importance to our community. However, this concern does not translate into widespread dissatisfaction with current city leadership or the Whittier Police Department.

When rating the City Council's handling of crime, responses were predominantly positive:31% rated it as good (7 out of 10)25% gave an excellent rating (9 out of 10)19% feel it is satisfactory (5 out of 10)Only a minority expressed dissatisfaction, with 12% rating the council's performance as poor (3 out of 10) and another 12% as failing (1 out of 10). This indicates a general satisfaction with how incumbents are managing crime in Whittier.

The Whittier Police Department received even more favorable reviews:44% rated their performance as good to excellent (8 to 9 out of 10)A notable 25% of respondents gave a top score (10 out of 10), signaling strong approval of the department's efforts.
